In January 2020, Yongsheng Technology’s control valves and shut-off valves were successfully installed and applied to the skid-mounted LNG project for shale gas test production, recovery and utilization in Zheng’an, Guizhou. The Anye 2 and Anye 3 shale gas wells in Zheng’an represent a major breakthrough in China’s first shale gas exploration project led by a provincial energy enterprise. Once developed, the billions of cubic meters of shale gas reserves in Zheng’an County will benefit tens of millions of residents in Guizhou. The project was designed by China Petroleum Pipeline Engineering Co., Ltd. and constructed by Guizhou Wujiang New Energy Development Co., Ltd.

Shale gas is an unconventional natural gas stored in organic-rich mud shale and its interlayers, mainly existing in adsorbed and free states. China’s energy mix features abundant coal, scarce oil and limited natural gas. As conventional oil and gas resources can no longer meet economic development demands, it is urgent to explore and utilize shale gas. In addition to supplying residential gas and urban heating to ease tight natural gas supply, shale gas can also be used for gas-fired power generation, industrial fuel, chemical raw materials and vehicle fuel.
